  • Activating the Acty

I’m outfitting the Acty van to be used as a mobile ham shack. Today (10/10/26) I trundled down to Stage Fort Park in Gloucester MA and worked the 20, 40, and 10 meter bands, as well as 70cm UHF Mostly I tweaked and adjusted the rig, but I also made about 8 good contacts on all bands.

Eventually the feed lines will pass through a packing gland and not through the window. The battery will be housed in a cabinet I am building that will mount under the left-side window.

A go-bag is often used to keep portable ham radio equipment quickly accessible.
